Cute and cozy birdhouse handmade by Brian Babcock in Carmel Valley, CA. Unfinished, unsanded pine body featuring a horizontally-shingled gable roof along with faux “doors” and “windows” made from various painted, stained, and raw pieces of scrap trim and weathered metal. Round 1 & 1/4“-diameter hole with perch is a suitable size for smaller cavity-nesting songbirds like wrens, titmouses, chickadees, warblers, and nuthatches. (If you would like to attract larger birds, there is plenty of room to enlarge the hole.) Birdhouse dimensions (measured on the outside) are 9” wide at the base, 5 &1/2” tall at the roof peak, and 4 & 3/4” deep at the base (roof overhang is a bit over 1/2” on each side). Both sides of the house beneath the “eaves” have a 1/4” gap for ventilation. One-of-a-kind!
